As we proceed from White to Red belt, there is a grounding that is happening. We have moved from crawling to standing. A step forward has begun.
We have grasped the fundamental basics and now the mechanics of how it works begins.
The Red belt is the telling belt of what you understand, to what you need to know to reach higher. Red is a deciding belt of humbling the ego or having no ego over your Kohais. At this belt is the true engineering of self onto the fundamentals of physical basics and mental levels of self control and mindfulness.
Keep the mindset of a White belt – always prepared to learn – as you aim for Red belt and learning becomes easier.
About the Red Belt Syllabus
The Red belt grading syllabus is very similar to the White belt grading syllabus.
This is because when you grade for Red belt, you will be tested again on Kihon, Ippo Dosa, Goshin-O – and on your knowledge of Goshin Kan’s Human Values.
Refer to the White Belt Syllabus to continue practising those lessons.
